Welcome to My Ledgers. My Ledgers ("we", "our", or "us") operates the https://myledgers.co.in website and the My Ledgers mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information that applies to our Service, and your choices about the collection and use of your information.
This policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules"), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") of India.
By using the Service, you freely, specifically, and unambiguously consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
2. Definitions
Personal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from that data (or from that data and other information in our possession), including name, email address, and phone number.
Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) means Personal Data that consists of financial information such as bank account details, transaction records, income, expenses, and credit/debit entries — as defined under Rule 3 of the SPDI Rules, 2011.
Usage Data means data collected automatically, either generated by your use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (e.g., page visit duration, device type).
Cookies means small data files stored on your device (computer or mobile device) that help us remember your preferences and improve your experience.
Data Principal means you, the individual to whom the Personal Data relates, as defined under the DPDP Act, 2023.
Data Fiduciary means My Ledgers, which determines the purpose and means of processing Personal Data.
3. Information We Collect & Its Use
We collect the following categories of information:
Account & Identity Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and authentication credentials. This is used to create and secure your account.
Financial & Ledger Data (SPDI)
The core of the Service involves financial information you enter: ledgers, transaction records, income, expenses, credit/debit entries, business details, and contact statements. This constitutes Sensitive Personal Data under Indian law and is treated with heightened protection. We use this data exclusively to provide the Service — we do not use it for advertising or third-party profiling.
Usage Data
We may collect information that your browser or device sends whenever you use the Service. This may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages or screens you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data. When you access the Service from a mobile device, this may include your mobile device type, unique device ID, mobile operating system, and mobile browser type.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and to retain certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. They are sent to your browser from our website and stored on your device. We do not use your financial data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the Service.
5. Retention of Data
My Ledgers will retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or improve the functionality of the Service, or we are legally obligated to retain it for longer.
Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is mandated by law.
6. Transfer & Sharing of Data
Your information, including Personal Data and SPDI, may be transferred to and maintained on servers located within India. We do not sell your personal or financial data to third parties for marketing.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate the Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analysing how the Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are contractually obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
We may share the following information with Service Providers:
- Information you provide us, such as name, email, and mobile phone number.
- Usage and device information collected as you access the Service.
This information is shared solely to personalise the application for you and to maintain service reliability.
Business Transfers
If My Ledgers is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, bankruptcy, or full or partial sale of assets, your Personal Data — including financial information — may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. The acquiring entity will be bound by this Privacy Policy or an equivalent standard of protection. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to such a transfer.
Disclosure for Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, My Ledgers may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency) under the IT Act, 2000, or the DPDP Act, 2023.
Legal Requirements
My Ledgers may disclose your Personal Data in good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation.
- Protect and defend the rights or property of My Ledgers.
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
- Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.
- Protect against legal liability.

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyse the use of our Service.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. You can opt out of having your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. 8. Security of Data
We implement reasonable security practices and procedures as mandated by Rule 8 of the SPDI Rules, 2011, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and periodic security reviews.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India as required under the DPDP Act, 2023, and inform you without undue delay.
9. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, and the SPDI Rules, you — as the Data Principal — have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a summary of the Personal Data we hold about you and the purposes for which it is processed.
- Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated data.
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your Personal Data where it is no longer necessary or where consent is withdrawn, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service.
- Right to Grievance Redressal: Lodge a complaint with our Grievance Officer or with the Data Protection Board of India.
- Right to Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided under the DPDP Act, 2023.

10. Children's Privacy
My Ledgers does not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Data from children under the age of 18. The Service and its content are not directed at children under 18. In the event that we learn we have collected Personal Data from a child under 18 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
